Chili Cookoff

Picture
The Capital City Chili Cook-off began in 2004 at the suggestion of then President Brian Harrington as a way to raise money for the Montgomery Lions Club Community Foundation, a 501 c(3) organization that supports the charities of the Montgomery Lions Club. The inaugural event was held at the Historic Train Shed in downtown Montgomery on the Riverfront. More than 12 teams participated and helped raise more than $14,000. Our event continues this year with the expectation to continue to grow the financial support of the Montgomery Lions Club Community Foundation and the Montgomery Lions Club.

Montgomery Lions Club in support of the Lions Club International Mission, we serve with our resources and volunteer efforts to conserve sight, provide assistance for deserving youth, develop youth leaders and foster international understanding and friendship.

As one of the largest Lions Club in Alabama, the Montgomery Lions Club has served the community since 1922. Each Lion serves as a volunteer, donating his or her time and talent to continue the solid reputation for community service and traditional family values through the outreach of saving sight and serving youth. Our Club's commitment to the deserving children of Montgomery mirrors generations of caring Lions and is woven into the fabric of each relationship and written into its plans for tomorrow.
